I have a new bank account and I need my return to go to the new bank account not the old one

If you have NOT filed the 2021 tax return you can enter the bank information in the File section on Step 2 for either direct deposit or direct debit.

If you have filed the 2021 tax return and it has been accepted by the IRS then the bank information cannot be changed.
