I had to file an amended return and I have a few questions

My original refund when I filed my return was $1464 and now since I filed my amended return it says I owe $247 and my refund is now $1217.  Since I e-filed my first return will I still receive the $1464?  And then do I have to send in a check for the amount of $247?

Yes, you will receive the full amount you filed for, and you should most definitely send the appropriate amount back.

When you start the amend process, the refund that is shown in TurboTax is reset to zero. 

You will still get the original refund. The amended return will show the difference you owe, or that you will get back as a refund. In your case you owe some money back based on the amended return.  You will mail that payment when you mail your amended return.
