How to check what?  On your refund?
You can check your refund status at Where's My Refund. This is for your Federal Return.

If you didn't submit your tax return you can certainly stop and abandon the return in the TurboTax and file somewhere else.  If you wish to verify that you did not e-file your tax return with TurboTax, please visit the following link efile status lookup tool. When you visit the website and enter your information, nothing should populate because you did not file a return using TurboTax.

You can also sign back into the Online account that you created as well, and it would show your tax return in progress. You would not need to do anything further, any information entered would automatically be purged at the end of the tax filing season in October. Or if you wish you can clear any data that you entered by selecting Clear and Start Over. This would erase your entries and you can then simply sign out.
