I had my e-file rejected. I have found out I am being claimed by my mother still. How to I amend my file and allow someone to claim me?

I already e-filed and had it rejected for being claimed.

It lets me change my answer to “did you pay for at least 50% of your living expenses?”

But it doesn’t let me change my previous answer to the question “can/will someone else be claiming you?”

When your return is rejected, you don't amend it. You revisit it and modify the information that is causing the rejection.

An amended return is filed when you need to modify information after a return has been accepted.

So, since you are rejected, you do not amend your return.

The question you are referring to is at the very beginning of the tax return under personal info.

If you started amending your federal return by accident and would like to cancel the amendment, follow the directions below:

Please view the TurboTax FAQ below as it explains the steps you need to follow to fix a rejected return.
