I had my 2018 tax done by a tax service company and now I need to amend my accepted return. Can I amend with Turbo Tax?

My 2018 was done by a service company and accepted by the IRS. The IRS had an adjustment done, but I would like to amend with Turbo Tax. Is that possible?

It is extremely difficult to do so...possible but very difficult.

1) First you have to prepare  a tax return that exactly matches the original tax return..every income $$ and deduction and credit...even the wrong ones.

2) Then you would select File-by-mail and pretend to MAIL-FILE it, and pay for the tax software...and of course, you wouldn't actually mail it..just print it out for filing as if you did..

3)  then you would start the special amendment process to make the proper changes...then print the amended tax forms, and those you would mail in.

Your major problem would be step #1...that could take a week, or a couple months, or never ....depending on the complexity of your tax file
