I had a friend that filed his taxes but then recieved a 1098-T form. And after looking more into it, he would qualify for the AOTC. How can he get the funds if he filed

Your pending returns can not be changed. If your return is accepted you will get an email. If the return is rejected the e-mail will tell you what to correct and you can make changes before e-filing again. Amend to change an accepted return after you get your refund. He will need to amend his tax return to include the 1098-T information.  Through TurboTax, the amended return will not be available until later this month.  You can watch Forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products for updates to the timeframe.
