I had a friend submit my return and to have deposited in her bank account. she said when she received it she sent it back. I need to know if it was returned.

Your tax refund from your tax return cannot be direct deposited into a bank account where you are not the owner of the account.  The bank would have sent the tax refund back to the IRS.  The IRS will now send the refund check in the mail to the address on the tax return.
