I got the txt my return was accepted. On the IRS website it only says it has been received & being processed, hasn't even been approved yet. Why is this taking so long?

Accepted means acknowledged. Meaning they acknowledged receipt of your return, so now it is processing. Processing generally takes up to 21 days.

You misunderstood.  Accepted and approved do not mean the same thing at all.

You have to wait for the IRS to process your return, approve the refund, and issue the refund.

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
