IRS started processing most returns on January 29th of this year. However, returns with Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) will not be processed until mid-February 2018, due to the implementation of the PATH law. Due to the passage of the PATH law, the refund process has resulted in longer wait times for those taxpayers. For more info on the PATH law, see this webpage: https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/irs-tax-return/what-is-the-path-act-and-how-may-it-impact-your-...
To track your refund:
First, check to see if your refund has been accepted by IRS. To check your e-file status, visit this link:https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
If it has been accepted, then you would wait to see if it is approved. As soon as IRS approves your refund then, they will give you the estimated date of the refund and the refund amount. You will not see the estimated date, on the IRS website, until after IRS approves the refund. The entire IRS refund process can take up to 21 days for most taxpayers. You can track your refund at https://sa.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp
