If you state the "type" of letter you received (there may be a CP or LTR number in the corner) someone may comment on it in general in this thread.

If you purchased the Audit Defense product (also included as a benefit in MAX, PLUS and Premium Services Bundle), you should contact the company that handles that (see FAQ below).  Their contact info is way down on that FAQ page.

Otherwise if you did not purchase Audit Defense, you can still get free help with an IRS letter from TurboTax Audit Support Center.

The phone number to use at TurboTax is way down on that FAQ page in the section "What types of Audit Support...."

If you got an audit letter, read it carefully. Determine

  1. The year being audited
  2. The question or issues with the return
  3. The deadline for a response
  4. Take action. If you don't respond by the due date, it may lead to further IRS action
    1. Get your information together, such as receipts, invoices, or canceled checks, that supports the items on your tax return.
    2. Prepare a letter and respond by the due date.
      1. If you agree, indicate this on the form and pay any owed amount.
      2. If you disagree, send a written explanation with supporting documents to the address on the notice.
  5. Use TurboTax Audit Support A representative will provide one-on-one support to answer your questions.
  6. Make sure the letter is legitimate;  do not provide information if it seems suspicious, and verify with the IRS directly.

If you purchased Audit Defense, contact them immediately for full representation. To contact TaxAudit, call 800-922-8348 or visit TurboTax Audit Defense
