Federal income taxes owed and paid for a prior tax year are not reported on nor deductible on a federal tax return.

but may be on your State tax return, but not any interest or penalties.

There are six states that allow you to enter the federal tax you paid on your state return--Alabama, Iowa. Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, and Oregon.  If you are filing in one of these states watch for the deduction when you prepare your state return.

And, if you paid delinquent State taxes in 2017, you can deduct them on your Federal return.
