I forgot to report that I could be claimed as someone else's dependent, and now my mother can't file me. How do I fix this issue?

In order for your Mother to claim you as a Dependent, you will need Amend your return to indicate that you are a Dependent.  You can click here for instructions on Amending your tax return: How to Change a Tax Return You Already Filed.

Once you begin the Amendment process, you will need to revisit the "My Info" section and click "Edit" next to your name.  As you walk through the TurboTax interview process, you need to answer "YES" to the question "Someone else can claim me as a Dependent" and "YES" to "and this person will claim me on their 2018 Tax Return".

Once your Amendment has been processed, your Mother can e-file her return and include you as a Dependent.  She also has the option to mail in her return.  If she wants to wait and e-file after your Amendment has been processed, she can file an extension: How do I file an Extension using TurboTax?

Your mother doesn't have to wait for you to amend since she will have to mail her return this year.
