I forgot to add myself as a dependent how do I go back and add myself?

You cannot be your own dependent, so there is nothing for you to add. By filing a return for yourself, you are entered for any credits or deductions you might qualify for. Additionally, beginning with 2018, the personal exemption everyone received for themselves and their dependents has been suspended until tax year 2025.

Ok so it's saying my return for fed. and state are rejected because of an error on my earned income credit 8862 I've opened hit fix my return nothing happens then hit the refile button and it keeps saying rejected twice now

Follow the directions below to return to the Personal Information section of your return to view dependency status.

Log in and click Tax Home. Click the My Info tab from the left side of the screen. On the next screen, scroll down to view/edit your information.
