I filled taxes on my own this yr, I was claimed by parents previously, Someone said after I E-file, I will need to print and mail to IRS. True or false? 4wks since files

I filed my taxes February 19th and it’s been exactly a month and still nothing... it has me wondering should I print and send it to the IRS because I was claimed as a dependent last year.

Nothing needs to be mailed to the IRS after you e-filed the tax return.

No.  Do not mail it if you already efiled.  Only send the IRS one return.    Was your efile Accepted?

When you efile you get back 2 emails. The first email only confirms the transmission. The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc. What does it say?

False. If you efile you don’t send a copy to the IRS. Be patient. Some refunds are taking months to be processed.
