It is too late to file an extension, an extension had to be filed by July 15th. If you are due a refund there is no penalty for filing a late return. If you owe taxes, a penalty & interest accumulate until the taxes are paid in full.
You can also check your e-file status, it will show accepted, rejected, or no return filed.

You can no longer file for an extension as the deadline date was July 15.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for checking the status of an e-filed tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/return-status/help/how-do-i-check-my-e-file-status/01/25538
If the status is anything other than Accepted, the tax return was not e-filed. You can still e-file a 2019 tax return using TurboTax up through October 15, 2020.
If you have not paid for the TurboTax account or the federal tax return was not Accepted by the IRS, you will not be able to view or print your complete tax return.
However, you can view your Form 1040 at any time. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
