I filed my taxes 2 months ago and the Iris changed my head of household status to single. Does that affect how long it takes to get them back? Why is it taking so long?

Yes, that will affect how fast the IRS will process and send your refund. If going through they make changes, it takes a lot longer for them to do that, document what changes needed to be made and why. In this situation, you can call the IRS and speak to a tax representative there and get an estimate of how much longer they think it will take.
