Did you itemize your deductions on the original return? If you didn't itemize and took standard deduction, entering it may not make a difference in refund amount.
Also, once your adjusted gross income exceeds $100,000 ($50,000 for married filing separately) that deduction is reduced. And it's completely eliminated if your AGI surpasses $109,000 ($54,500 if married filing separately).
