I filed my tax return before the law was passed excluding up to $10,200 of unemployment. We just got our add'l refund, half of what Turbotax expected. Should I amend?

I filed in Feb 2021. We rec'd our expected refund (not including the change in UI tax law) a couple months later. And now in Aug rec'd the additional refund. This is all in regards to the Federal refund (our state refund came back quickly, including the add'l amount reflecting the change in UI tax law)

Yes ... if you corrected the return to reflect the UE changes and it added credits not claimed on the original return then you do have to amend to get those now that the IRS made the UE corrections.   Problem you will have is getting the column A of the 1040X to reflect the changes only the IRS made and then amending to get the extra credits ... this will require the downloaded program and entries in the FORMS mode.
