I filed my refund too early thinking all my paperwork was in, more came in, but I have already filed, what do I do?

It has been more than three weeks since I have filed and have been waiting to receive a refund to amend it.

An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 16 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

The federal amended tax return, Form 1040-X, for tax year 2021 is estimated to be available in TurboTax on 03/17/2022

you'll have to wait until the original is fully processed. 21 days was just a pure guess by Turbotax. the IRS actually warned at the beginning of the tax season that refunds MIGHT take longer this year. the 1040-x according to Turbotax won't be ready for another week or so
