I filed my NJ state return via efile on april 15 but it has not yet been accepted. Does anyone have an idea why?

New Jersey is always slow sending acceptances. It's not unusual for it to take a couple of days. And with a flood of last-minute filings they surely have a bigger than normal backlog now.

Technically, what would happen if I am rejected? Will I have to pay a penalty if it gets rejected even though I gave my payment information? Thank you.
