I filed my federal taxes and forgot my state but now it wont let me to do just state it always brings the federal with and I don't know how to stop that? so I can do stat

:I don't know what Turbo Tax version you filed your Federal in so I am not sure if  it would be free,this however should get you back in to file your state.

Please try this:

• Log into your account and go to the 2016 Tax Timeline.   
  
• Scroll to "Some things you can do."  
  
• Choose "Add a state".  (you're not really adding another one; that's just to open the return back up.)
• Then you can finish, review, and file the state return.
