If she had tuition expenses greater than scholarship income you would need to fix this by amending both of your returns. You will need to print and mail both amended returns in order to change it. Click here for instructions on how to Amend Your Return

It will take the IRS up to 16 weeks to process your amended forms and issue you a refund.
