I filed for my stimulus check, when should I know I’m approved?

Not sure what you mean that you filed for a stimulus check. When? How? The current online TurboTax software is for a 2020 tax return and you cannot file a 2020 return yet. The IRS will not be accepting 2020 returns until the end of January.

If you are referring to filing a 2020 federal tax return, you have not filed anything. A 2020 tax return cannot be filed at this time. The federal tax return, Form 1040, will not be finalized until later in January. The e-filing of a tax return will not be available until later in January.

The stimulus payment will go to the account you entered for direct deposit on the 2019 tax return. If the account is closed the IRS will send the payment by mail or on a debit card.
