I file a 2019 tax return but got a notice from the IRS stating that i need to send in proof of federal tax withheld which i can not provide. What do i do?

if you put it on your tax form, how did you get the number in the first place? why can't you provide it?????

You need to send them a copy of your W2 showing the withholding in box 2 or any 1099 with withholding in box 4.  Ask your employer or issuer for another copy.Maybe your employer didn't send in their copy.

Those federal withholdings that i entered on my return was from forms w2g casino winnings. I lost the forms while in the process of moving.

Ask the casinos for another copy.  So you probably don't know if the withholding on your tax return matched the W2G?  Maybe you entered some twice or in 2 different places.
