I entered the wrong year for one of my kids birthday… how can I fix it before the irs accepts it

You cannot change anything at all on a return that is pending on the server.  You just have to wait.  If the return is rejected you can fix it and re-file.  The IRS will begin accepting/rejecting e-files on January 29.

Hopefully it will reject.  But if it is accepted you might not need to amend.  What was the wrong year?  And the right year?  If it doesn't change their age to under or over 17 or 19 or 24 it might not change your return.
