There are a LOT of delays for 2020 refunds. Millions of people have been waiting much longer than just a couple of months for their refunds. The IRS refund site has now switched over to 2021----so your 2020 refund information is not going to show up on that site.
Was your e-file accepted?
Did you e-file? Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”
When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first one will say that your return was submitted. The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected. If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”
Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself. TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.
The Where’s My Refund tool has been changed over to the 2021 tax year so you will no longer get updates on the 2020 return.
Check your account transcripts instead :

If it has been shown up to now on the refund site then you know the IRS has your return and they are working on it.
To call the IRS:IRS: 800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Mon-Fri
Listen to each menu before making the selection.
First choose your language. Press 1 for English.
Then do NOT choose the first choice re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
Instead, press 2 for "personal income tax".
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions." It should then transfer you to an agent.
TAX ADVOCATE
At the following IRS website, find the USA map and click on your state, and it will give you the number of your area's IRS Taxpayer Advocate.

I filed Turbotax online and received a message from Turbotax that the IRS accepted it within a few hours after submitting. The IRS website says no return filed when I click on my 2020 transcript today. I understand the IRS is terribly behind, but shouldn't the IRS say that I filed by now?
I filed Turbotax online on 10/27 and received a message from Turbotax that the IRS accepted it within a few hours after submitting. The IRS website says no return filed when I click on my 2020 transcript. I understand the IRS is terribly behind, but shouldn't the IRS say that I filed by now? I will definitely not submit my 2021 return until later so the IRS can catch up.
The IRS site is not displaying any information now about 2020 returns. it will only show information for 2021 returns going forward. If you KNOW the return was accepted---and you have seen something up to now on the IRS site that says it is processing, etc., then all you can do is wait for them to process the return.
You may be able to see something eventually if you look for your transcript.
