A State's debit date does not always mean the state will debit your account on exactly that date.
Your State will process your return and then send to debit your account. They may take up to 30 days to do this.
You may have not chosen a date and if you do not, then a default date of April 17th will be chosen for you so that you do not incur late fees and interest charges from the IRS.

The direct debit date that you choose does not mean that your state will debit it exactly on that date. It just means they will not take it before the date you chose. They will debit from your account after they have processed your return.
First verify the date that you chose for direct debit.
If you didn't select a date, then the default
date is the due date of the return, 4/17/18.
