You will have to wait and see if your efiled Federal return is accepted or rejected.   In this case, you should hope that it is rejected, since that will be easier to fix.  If rejected, you can just make the changes and resubmit the efile.

If it's accepted, however, you will have to prepare an amended return, Form 1040X, to correct anything.   Online TurboTax amending will not be available until mid-February.  The amended return has to be printed and mailed, and takes approximately 16 weeks for the IRS to process.

If you do have to amend, it is recommended to wait on any Federal refund to arrive first before amending.

In the meantime, do NOT make any changes in your return.  If you do have to prepare an amended return, it must start off exactly as it was originally filed.

If you have to amend the Federal, you may need to amend the State return, too (if applicable.)

By the way, I forgot to mention that the IRS won't start processing returns  until January 23.  So you may not know until that time (or soon after)  if your Federal return was accepted or rejected.   The IRS pulls a few returns early.
