I e-filed my Federal and North Carolina 2022 on 4-11-2023. My NC State taxes owed has been charged to my credit card and posted on most recent statement. However, my Turbo Tax file shows as the Federal was not filed. What can i do?

The state tax return could not have been e-filed if the federal tax return was not e-filed.

Where are you seeing that the federal return has not been e-filed?

If you used the Online version you can check your efile status here

When you efile you get back 2 emails.  The first email only confirms the transmission.  The second email says if the IRS (or state) Accepted or Rejected your efile.  And check your spam folder for them.

When you log into your account you should also see the status and if it was Accepted or Rejected, Started, Printed, Ready to Mail, etc.  What does it say?

IF YOU USED THE DESKTOP PROGRAM

For the Desktop program you have to check the filing status inside the program.  But I wouldn't trust that.  It is known to be wrong sometimes.  Go by the Accepted or Rejected email.

Open your return and go up to menu item

File > Electronic Filing > Check Electronic Filing Status
