I didn't file my 2020 return using Turbotax, but I did start a return. TurboxTax is pulling info from my 2020 return for 2021. Where is this coming from?

I used an accountant that utilizes Intuit for my 2020 return.  For 2021 I am again using TurboTax and it is somehow pullung in my 2020 Adjusted Gross Income.  Is this becasue I started a 2020 return, but never submitted it?  Is TT pulling from somewhere else?

Yes because you started a 2020 return.   

There is a tricky way to clear out transferred info in the Online version.  But doing this will also clear out all your entries.  Go to Tax Tools > Tools > Transfer from your computer > Continue > then Continue without transferring.

Or you can just start a brand new account with a new username.  How to start another return in the Online version

normally for Turbotax to pull in 2020 numbers you would have to be using the same account the accountant used for 2020.  if the accountant was using Turbotax and charging you a fee, they were in violation of the license agreement which prohibits commercial use of Turbotax. tax returns preparers preparing returns for others for compensation are supposed to pay for and use LaCerte if they want to use an Intuit product.

Thanks Mike.  The accountant was not using TurboTax to file, but he does use Intuit for sharing files and my return.  For TurboTax, I have been using the same account for many years.  Last year I had a special situation I did not know how to handle, so used an accountant for filing.

Thanks.  If It's going to wipe out all the previous employer, dependents etc, then I don't want to do that.  I'll just try to figure out where the numbers are wrong and correct them.
