I didn’t file in 2018, but my 2019 taxes were accepted april 11th 2020. Can I still get the stimulus check?

I screwed up filing in 2018 and put off filing for 2019 until April 9th 2020. My return was accepted but I haven’t received it yet (today is April 15th). Will I still be able to get a COVID-19 Stimulus check when I do get my return?

Yes. Once the 2019 return is processed (Check Where's My Refund?),  you will qualify for a stimulus check. Please check stimulus status at IRS Get My Payment.

You should still file your 2018 so you don't end up with penalties in a few years if you owed. If you would definitely get a refund, then you can let the IRS keep your money. Here is a link for  how to prepare prior year returns.
