I did not realize that I could claim my foster kids as dependents until this year. Can I go back and claim them and adjust my refunds??

You can amend for 3 years after the due date of the return for a refund.  After April 17, 2018 the statute of limitation for 2014 refunds will expire.

Amended returns can only be mailed.  It is suggested that it be mailed certified with return receipt (or other tracking
 service) to verify that the IRS receives it.

You can check the status of the amended return here, but allow 3 weeks after mailing.
