I did my taxes but I forgot that I had purchased insurance through the market place for 3 months so I got a letter I amended my return now it shows I owe 12 dollars

Yes I was getting 958 dollars back because I paid about a 1,000 or so in taxed but since I forgot to put in my tax info I got a letter so I did the changes and then in turbo tax it shows now I owe 12 bucks so does that mean they are taking all my return. I am confused I sent in the 1095 and the other form needed but how can they take that all I paid the insurance through the market for 3 months but I couldn't afford it why would they take my refund ?

No they are not taking your return at all. An amending your taxes resets the amount owed/refunded to 0 but keeps all the information you already filed with. The reason it resets to 0 is because the software is made to believe you have already sent your taxes to the IRS and either received or payed the amount owed with the information given.

You will receive your refund but you will need to pay the $12 you owe.
