I did my tax return last night and I haven’t received a confirmation on it and $80 has been taken out of my account

What tax year?  What do you mean by "I did my tax return?"    What confirmation?

You are way too late to e-file a 2019 return---the deadline for e-filing 2019 was in October.  And it is way too soon to e-file a 2020 return.  You cannot e-file it yet.  The IRS will not begin to accept 2020 returns until almost the end of January.

Please explain what you did--or think you did.

Do you mean you paid $80 for the 2019 desktop software and prepared the 2019 tax return?  It cannot be e-filed if that is what you think you did.  The return has to be printed, signed and mailed.  You do not get a confirmation for doing that.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
