I completed my 1040x but have not efiled. Cannot find it on my Turbotax account. I do not see tax home tab. How can I see my past returns and get a tax home tab?

I want to file my 1040x return. Cannot find any returns in Turbotax acoout. Using Chat to try and get help from a Turbotax represtative is a total waste of time. Never get a live person. How do I get Turbotax to help me with my problem?

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2022 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

And....e-filing is closed for that amended return.   You will need to print it, sign and date it in ink, and file it by mail.   It would be a good idea to use a mailing service like certified mail so you can track it and know it was received by the IRS since you will have a long wait for it to be processed.

Even during “normal” times it takes about four months for the IRS to process an amended return.  During the pandemic and due to the severe backlog at the IRS it is taking much longer—six to nine  months or more for many amended returns.  Do not expect quick results from amending.  When the IRS issues a refund for an amended return it will be by check.  They do not make direct deposits for refunds for amended returns.  You can watch for information here:

i.e. the Tax Home selection doesn't show up until you start thru entering some of the initial 2022 information on the main screen.
