I claimed I did not get the 3rd stimulus payment in 2021 on my federal return. The $5600 was not added to my refund amount. How do I receive it?

It is listed on my 2021 return under block 30 but, how do I receive the stimulus if it is not added to my federal refund amount for direct deposit? $5600 is a lot for a family to just not receive still.

If the amount of recovery rebate credit is listed on line 30 of your form 1040, then it is already added to the refund.

To make sure that the Recovery Rebate has been transferred to line 30 of form 1040 and included in your tax refund, please preview your form 1040 by following these steps:

1. In TurboTax, open your return
2. In the left-hand column, locate Tax Tools, click on the drop-down arrow then click on Tools
3. On the Tools Center page, click on View Tax Summary
4. In the left-hand column, click on Preview my 1040
5. Your form 1040 will display.
6. Scroll down to line 30 - Recovery rebate credit and you should see the amount of this credit on this line.

What happened is that amount WAS already included in the REFUND-O-METER when you completed the MY INFO section and later when you were asked how much you got in advance and you said zero the entire credit was left on line 30.   Be aware that all your federal tax bill must be satisfied before any of the refundable credits can be refunded.    A review of your 1040  from line 24 down will show you what is happening.
