After filing my tax return, I noticed that under the direct deposit section, I checked the wrong account type (checking/savings).
The account and routing number are correct, but instead of putting the actual account type (savings), I selected "checking."
What will happen?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Just keep checking your bank account to see if the IRS takes it out. If they don't take it by April 15 then you better pay the IRS directly at https://www.irs.gov/payments
The bank called me, they already tried to debit my account. I have to see if this is an easy fix or not?
Everything else was correct, just the check box is wrong...
