I can't find my employer W-2 and I was terminated so unable to access payroll. I found via IRS.gov the transcript Form 4852 but that does not include the full EIN. Help

Although you were terminated, the employer is still required to provide you with a W-2.   Have you tried calling, emailing, texting or snail mailing the employer to tell them where to send your W-2?

Here are two potential solutions:

  1. Contact a former coworker and request the employer's federal and state IDs. Since you already have the wage information, these IDs are all that is needed to create a complete W-2.
  2. You can call the IRS at 800-829-1040 and request a hard copy of your unmasked Wage and Income transcript, which will be mailed to your address on file.
