By "will not show up", do you mean you can't find the 2016 return at all, or that it doesn't show up in the printout when you try to print it?
When you log in and go the 2016 Tax Timeline, is there a section "Some things you can do", with a link to "Download/print the PDF?" Or does it act like it wants you to start a new 2016 return? If you don't find the 2016 return at all, you may have multiple accounts. Here's how to check:
get a list of your User IDs and recover account access, you can use the
tool at the link below. Try using your phone number first. After
that, if necessary, then run the tool on your email address(es) you can

If still no luck after running that on your phone number and email address(es), then go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, and choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.
