Gambling winnings are taxable income. Losses are an itemized deduction. If you do not have enough itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction, your losses will have no effect.

Do you have a W-2G to enter? You have to itemize in order to deduct gambling losses, but not to report the income. You enter your gambling losses on the screen after you enter the W-2G.
