I am trying to e-file my New York State return, as required by law, & this program is not allowing it. It is saying I must print/paper file, which NYS says is illegal

If your federal return was mailed, then you will not be able to e-file the state return

If your NY return is being rejected, what is the rejection message or code? We cannot see your screen--we need information to go on.
