What do you mean "2017 and 2018?" You do know they have to be filed as completely separate returns, right? NEVER try to combine income from two or more years on the same tax return. You have to use 2017 software to prepare the 2017 return, and 2018 software to prepare the 2018 return.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS and/or your state received the return. Mail each year in its own separate envelope.
