You didn't say how you filed.  If you printed and filed by mail, for instance, it will take about 4 weeks for any info to show up at the WMR tool.

If you efiled, double-check to be sure the return was efiled successfully and accepted.  Sign into your Online Account and check the efile status at the Tax Home.

If that showed it was accepted, you can use the tool at the IRS website below to monitor the status of your Federal refund.   NOTE: You have to wait at least 24 hours after being accepted before using the tool.

NOTE: When using that tool, use only the Federal refund amount, and not any total refund amount that includes a state refund.
Look at your actual return.  The amount to use is on your Federal Form 1040, Line 21a.

NOTE: By law, the IRS will not begin issuing refunds on tax returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit until after February 15. So filers with those credits likely won't get their refunds until late February, or in some cases, early March.

If you're sure the return was accepted, and everything's being entered correctly at the IRS WMR tool, using my recommendations above, there aren't any additional tricks.  All you can do is keep checking the IRS WMR occasionally.

If you efiled, and after 21 days from acceptance, if you're still not seeing any info there, you can phone the IRS and speak to an agent.   It's too early to contact them now.  In the first 21 days, they say they can't research the status of your refund and tell you anything different.

In the meantime, if you wish, you could try phoning the IRS refund hotline and see if it can look you up over the phone in their automated system, but you may get the same result.  Listen to all of the recorded message, then it will allow you to check the automated system. 800-829-1954
