I am not able to see the status of my tax return on the IRS website. Is this because of the shut down?

Unless your tax return was one of a test batch pulled early, your return is still sitting in the TurboTax servers waiting for the IRS to pull it beginning Jan. 28. The IRS will either accept or reject your return a few days after that. TurboTax will send you confirming emails. If accepted, you should be able to start tracking your return on the IRS web site soon after that.
