I am mailing an amended 2015 state tax return and the directions tell me to attach W-2s & 1099s. It is being amended only for a solar energy credit do they need W2s?

The State agency should already have a copy of my W2s and 1099s.

Usually the taxing authority only wants documents pertaining to the changes that have been made. Go ahead and file your amended state return with documentation relating to the credit. If they need copies of your income statements again, they will contact you.
