I am doing taxes for 2013 for my daughter and her finance. He passed away in 2013. What is the best way to do their taxes?

Explain "their" taxes--you cannot file a joint return for them if they were not legally married.

There is no "their" taxes.  He and your daughter cannot file Joint since they were not married.
His next of kin or Estate administrator should be doing his return.

Thank you.  I should have mentioned they were living common law.  Tragic car accident, no estate admin, and his next of kin are unable to do it.   :(

Which state? Not all states recognize common law marriages. And why is his 2013 return just coming up now?

we live in Ontario.  it was a horrible car accident, and my daughter has just not been able to deal with it and was hoping to eventually have the strength to get to it.  she has asked for my help to do it

Get the 2013 program quickly ... download , upgrade & get the state programming if needed now before 2013 is gone for good in a couple of weeks.

Thank you so much, I had originally purchased the 2013 for my own use, but no longer have the it.  Would there be a record of it somewhere?  I submitted electronically, maybe it can be tracked that way so I do not need to purchase a new one for 2013?  Thanks again.
