I am confused about the Tell us about the refund you received in 2025 question. I'm in Ohio, I have my W-2 and that's all I have

Where do I find the info to fill this out from a W-2? I have last years as well. Just not sure what I'm supposed to be putting here

Did you get a refund from Ohio for your 2024 tax return?

If you received a refund on your 2024 state tax return it may be taxable on your 2025 federal tax return if you itemized deductions on your 2024 federal return and received a tax benefit from state taxes as an itemized deduction on Schedule A.

When you enter Form 1099-G showing your 2024 tax refund from Ohio, TurboTax asks questions about your 2024 state tax return to determine whether or not the 2024 state tax refund you received in 2025 is taxable on your federal return.

The easiest way to find the total payments and withholdings for Ohio for 2024 is to look at Line 17 (Total Ohio tax payments) on your 2024 Ohio Form IT 1040 tax return.

If you filed your 2024 tax return using TurboTax Online, you can view a copy of your return by going to Tax Home, then scrolling to the bottom of the page to Tax Returns and Docs and selecting 2024.
