I am amending 2016 and 2017. I loaded the software. Finished amendments. And now the active files say "no amended returns". Can turbotax get my returns for me?

You can only amend 2016 & 2017 on your computer using the 2016 & 2017 software.   You must print the amended return from your computer then sign and mail the returns in separate envelopes - do not mail together of the IRS mail room will attach them together and one will probably never get processed.

Amended returns can only be mailed. It is suggested that it be mailed certified with return receipt (or other tracking service) to verify that the IRS receives it.

Don't understand your question.  What "active files"?  Where?  You said you finished the amendments.  Then why do you need a copy from Turbo Tax?  They would only be on your computer.   And any returns you do on your computer are not saved in your Online account.  

Did you do the amended 1040X returns right?  Did you start by downloading the original tax files from online that end in .tax2016 and .tax2017?
