The standard deduction for 2025 has not changed since filing of 2025 tax returns began. What makes you think it changed?
What you might have seen is that the new tax law that was passed last July increased the standard deduction for 2025 from what it would have been under the previous law. But that increase was incorporated in TurboTax (and other tax software) from the beginning of the filing season. There has been no increase since you filed your tax return.
My apologies, I received an email from turbo tax stating that the standard deduction was raised since I filed. I should’ve double checked before posting the question. Thank you for your response.
We still don't understand. Are you ok now? We are curious. What did the email say? Anything else like how much it was raised? The Standard Deduction is raised from last year 2024. If you are over 65 there is a new 6,000 deduction but that is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction.
It is a complete misread of the email I received on my part. I thought it stated since I filed but it stated since I last visited turbotax and the email was labeled as a follow-up. I just misread and misunderstood. Yes my question is answered. Thank you again. I apologize for any inconvenience.
