You don't have to report cash inheritance (for example cash from you mom's savings account) because cash inheritance is not taxable.  However, if cash is from some of her retirement accounts, such as 401K or IRA, you should report it. You would receive form 1099-R. If your return has been submitted- please wait - if it's rejected for some reason, you can add your inheritance and re-send the return. If your return has been submitted and accepted- you will have to amend; the return is mailed; takes about 16 weeks to process. Here are amending instructions.
